Biography

Since his European ,at the Salzburg Festival, and his American debut , as Ruslan in Glinkas Ruslan and Ludmila in Carnegie Hall, in 1994 Pavel Daniluk has performed in Vienna, Geneva, Berlin, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague, Bern, Madrid, Lisbon, Stuttgart, Cologne, Dublin, Athens, Mannheim, Brussels, Liège, Seviglia, Nancy et cetera. He made also various guest appearances at the Bregenz Festival.

In the course of his international activities he has worked with conductors such as N. Santi, G. Albrecht, C. von Dohnanyi, N. Harnoncourt, Z. Metha, V. Fedoseyev, K. Petrenko, G. Noseda, F. Luisi, I. Metzmacher, F. Welser-Möst under the direction of H. Kupfer, P. Konwitschny, C. Beito, A. Homoki, T. Gürbaca, P. Stein, G. Del Monaco, U. Laufenberg, R. Wilson, D. Tcherniakov.

His repertoire includes the bass parts in Macbeth, Rigoletto, Aida, Nabucco, Turandot, La bohème, Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Giovanni, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Carlo, A Life for the Tsar, I due Foscari, Dvořák’s Armida, Vanda as well as Rusalka, Boris Godunov, The Tsar’s Bride, Kitezh and The Demon (both of which he recorded on CD), The Fiery Angel, Eugene Onegin, Iolanta, Queen of Spades, Prince Igor, Dargomyschski’s Rusalka, etc. In concert he sang works by Verdi (Requiem), Dvořák (Stabat Mater, Requiem), Janáček (Glagolitic Mass), Shostakovich (13th and 14th symphonies) and Gretschaninov (Demestvennaya Liturgia).

From 1999 to 2021 Pavel Daniluk was engaged at the Zurich Opera House, where he was heard as Ramfis, Basilio, Raimondo, Fafner, Inquisitor, Dossifei, Gremin, Boris Timofeevich, Warlaam, Pimen, Kontschak, Timur, Alvise, Sparafucile, Wesener, Titurel.

Recently he made guest appearances with Shostakovitch’s 13th Symphony Babi Jar at the Opera di Firenze, as Inquisitore (Fire Angel) at the Teatro Real de Madrid and sang King René (Jolanthe), Rocco (Fidelio) and Daland (Holländer) in Switzerland.
